Impressive Towing Capabilities

The 2023 Toyota Tacoma Access Cab 4x4 models are rated to tow up to a maximum of 2,948 kgs or 6,500 lbs, when properly equipped. By opting for the larger and more feature laden 4x4 Double Cab models, this figure drops to a still respectable 2,904 kgs or 6,400 lbs. It must be noted, however, that as one of the few new pickup trucks that still offer a manual transmission option, the Tacoma is a truly traditional towing machine. With its six-speed manual transmission, owners have full control with the ability to select the ideal gear based on the current road conditions.

Reliable Powertrain

For the 2023 model year, all Toyota Tacoma models are equipped with the brand’s tried and true Direct Injected 3.5L DOHC V6 engine with VVT-i. A true workhorse of an engine, this V6 power plant has been a staple engine in the Toyota lineup for years, receiving slight efficiency and reliability improvements over time. Making 278 horsepower and 265 lb-ft of torque, this engine is definitely no slouch. Thanks to its modern direct injection and variable valve timing technologies, it also puts out respectable fuel economy figures for a midsize pickup truck.
