Three Available Powertrain Options
Depending on the model, the 2024 Toyota Grand Highlander can be equipped with one of three available engines. Gasoline variants are powered by a 2.4-litre turbocharged four-cylinder engine that generates 265 horsepower, 310 lb-ft of torque, and is mated to an eight-speed automatic transmission. Those who opt for the mid-trim hybrid variants receive an SUV with a 2.5-litre dynamic force hybrid four-cylinder engine that generates 243 horsepower, 175 lb-ft of torque and is mated to an electronic continuously variable transmission. For the most powerful Grand Highlander available, the range-topping Platinum MAX AWD Hybrid’s 2.4-litre turbocharged Hybrid MAX engine produces 362 horsepower, 400 lb-ft of torque and is mated to a traditional six-speed automatic transmission.
Standard All-Wheel Drive
A welcome feature, especially for Northern Ontario drivers, all 2024 Toyota Grand Highlander models come equipped with an intelligent all-wheel drive system that gives drivers peace of mind during uncertain road conditions. Not only is this standard system ideal for snow covered roads, the added traction of the all-wheel drive system allows the Grand Highlander to confidently tow up to a maximum of 2,268 kg (5,000 lbs), when properly equipped.
